::24 December 2010

I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support during 2010 and wish you a fantastic Christmas and New Year.

It's always a great time of year to spend with friends and family and that is exactly what I have been doing. My sister Margi just got married and that has given the family another good reason to get together. I really have enjoyed catching up with them all and Leo has really loved getting to know his young cousins.

Saying this though, I also feel very excited and enthusiastic about the upcoming season. 2010 was great in so many ways but also I feel motivated to continue to learn and I'm more driven than ever to take it to the next level. I am committed to working hard and enjoying the game and I believe if I do that the results will happen and a better year is possible.

In the immediate future I'm really excited to get to Orlando where I can sharpen up for the season and where I have new equipment from Taylormade waiting for me that I'm planning on getting into play for the season as it's incredible!

Once again happy Christmas and a successful new year.

After the TOUR championships I injured my shoulder, I had a rotator cuff problem which set me back. It left me in the gym twice a day trying to get fit and ready for The Nedbank Challenge at Sun City, which is a tournament that I have grown up watching as a kid and one that I love to play in. I got fit just in time, I was putting in a lot of effort, a lot of hours in order to make the tournament and I did. I only started hitting balls about 7 days before I flew to South Africa and my goal going into the tournament was just to play 4 rounds without pain and that is exactly what I managed to achieve. My golf game was understandably rusty but more importantly I managed to get through the tournament without injuring myself further and start the process of getting ready for 2011.

I am now enjoying some holiday time down in South Africa. I spent some time in Fancourt, George where my Gran lives and where my mum spends a lot of time and have just travelled down to Cape Town where my sister is going to get married on 21 December. So really it’s been a time to reconnect with a lot of family that I don’t get the chance to see every often and also sneak in some practise and gym work.

I am excited about 2011, I feel like my mind and game is in pretty decent shape and I am looking forward to putting a hard year’s work in and hopefully getting a lot out of it. I am also excited about some new equipment that is coming through in the next week or two. I am going to test that out the week before I fly to Hawaii and am looking forward to implementing some changes with my equipment. I definitely think that change is for the better so watch this space and I will tell you exactly what I will be playing with in 2011.

Thanks for your continued support this year. You have always been very supportive. You can follow me on twitter, but I know Twitter isn't for everyone so will also do my very best to update you with more substantial reports on my website.

Take care
