After a week of at home I headed to the Turning Stone Resort Championships. In all reality I had probably made enough money to keep my card in the states so did not have to play the tournament, but I wanted to play so I could make a decent cheque and feel more comfortable.

It was a tough week as it turned out as the weather was terrible; it rained and was bitterly cold all week long. The course was so soft that we played preferred lies everywhere on the golf course. This meant that driving accuracy wasn’t really much of a factor which was a shame as I actually drove the ball well all week. I shot a closing 66 on Sunday to finish 15th, make a healthy cheque and easily secure my card for next year. All and all I really enjoyed the golf course despite the weather and I will probably play this tournament again. I had another week off in Orlando before heading to Europe to play in Portugal and Valencia to work on qualifying into the Dubai World Championships.

After a long trip over the pond on Sunday I had a day at The Royal Blackheath Golf Club for my sponsor Tradition. I played 1 par 3 with each group which meant playing the same hole 25 times; it was a 6-iron par 3. On the Tuesday I headed straight out to Portugal for The Portugal Masters where the weather was fantastic all week. I got off to a lovely start shooting 65 which included 3 birdies with a 6-iron, all of which were hit within a few feet of the hole. So I guess my practise on Monday paid off. Two 70’s in the second and third round slowed up my progress on a low scoring week and put me a little behind contention. But a 66 on the final day pulled me up into a tie for 6th and probably secured me a place in The Dubai World Championship, which the top 60 on the money list qualify in to. This was my 3rd consecutive 66 on a Sunday. All year I have played well on Sunday which is a good feeling.

I now head to Spain and Singapore before heading back to the states to see my wife and baby Leo who I am missing dearly, but Skype is keeping me in touch with.

Cheers
