After a long trip to Singapore from the skins game in Majorca where Jose Maria Olazabal took all the cash with an amazing birdie, birdie, eagle, birdie birdie finish, I was excited about my last of three weeks on the road.
I dealt with the jet lag pretty well all week and felt fairly fresh even on Sunday after 4 rounds in the heat of Singapore. My week came down to my last 4 holes of the 2nd round. I was +4 with 4 to play and with the cut looking like being +1 I needed a hot finish! I rose to the challenge if you'll excuse the pun and birdied the last 4 to shoot 70 and get it back to level par. That was a relief as it would've been a long way to come to miss the cut! I made making the cut worthwhile with a 68 on Sunday to climb in a tie for 14th. I didn't hit it brilliantly all week but figured out something in my address position prior to the last round and played much better. Even though I've recently changed coach I feel more able to work things out for myself recently.
I'm updating you from home where it was great to see the family. 3 weeks was a long time to be away and a lot has changed with little Leo. I'm enjoying a week off before playing Disney here in Orlando where I'll sleep in my own bed before taking on the long trip to Dubai for the final event for the Race to Dubai.
It'll be great to play well and sneak back into the top 50 in the world before the end of the year and secure my masters invitation early. That always makes the turkey taste good at Christmas.
Thanks
Justin
