I've enjoyed being back in the UK for the last 10 days. My trip up to Scotland for the Barclays Scottish Open was great preparation for the Open Championship this week. We got a little unlucky up there with the weather but Castle Stuart is a great venue and I'd go back next year.
I played well, really steady from tee to green. I played the last 36 holes bogey free which shows that I'm hitting a lot of good shots, not making silly mental errors and when I do miss fire, I get up and down! I finished in a tie for 14th only 2 shots from 3rd place so close to being a very good week. Including my last 2 rounds at AT&T National in Philly the week before, that 5 consecutive rounds in the 60's. All in all I feel I'm running into form at a good time leading into the Open Championship.
I've played 2 practice rounds and I "think" I'm ready. I say "think" because on this course, and with mother nature playing a big part, good golf and a little lady luck will be required!
