My key swing thought is to complete my turn so my arms swing down in time with my body. This enables me to get the club and arms in front of my chest through the impact area, creating more width and a better release of the club.
I also focus on getting my alignment correct at address, with my feet, hips and shoulders all pointing in the same direction. This maximises the chances of getting the club back to the ball square and is something you can easily check yourself in a mirror.
The balance of weight at address is crucial too and I ensure that my weight is on the balls of my feet when I start my swing.

Because of its low loft, the driver will expose any flaws in your set up very quickly. I always take care to ensure that my feet, hips and shoulders are all lined up to the target. From there it is all about keeping a good rhythm for a long straight drive rather than trying to kill it.

With my irons, my aim is to make a good clean ball strike. From the takeway I get the club back to halfway so the shaft is parallel to the ground with the toe of the club pointing up. From there it is just a turn of the shoulders to reach the top. I like to keep my legs fairly 'quiet' on the downswing so that my arms swing more in front of my body. This gives me a better release for more power and accuracy.
I have always been a good putter and lately I have improved more, because I have left the technical theory on the practice green and concentrate on feel when I am on the course. However, I do work on the fundamentals too! I work on my alignment keeping my body still and keeping my grip very soft for improved feel.
